Houston WiFi Hot Spots

Houston is hot, in more ways than one. No, we're not just talking about the weather. The nation's fourth largest city is a dining and entertainment mecca, filled with exciting night spots and activities. You will find many of them here on HoustonHotSpots.net.

But much of Houston also is wired for free Internet access. Did you know that all of downtown Houston is a WiFi hot spot?

Not only is the city filled with establishments - coffee shops, hotels, businesses - that offer Internet access to customers, often free of charge, but the City of Houston offers free Internet access in many of the city's regions.

The city of Houston provides free outdoor WiFi access downtown and in several neighborhoods, including Midtown, Gulfton, Fifth Ward, Third Ward, Sunnyside, Second Ward and OST/South Union.

Downtown access, unfortunately, is spotty, depending on your location. Often, a shift of a few feet can make a world of difference in how quickly your laptop or mobile device can access a web page.

It must feel humiliating for Houston to be so easily man-handled by a non-wrestler with little or no training. Houston's shame is highlighted by frequent close ups of his tortured expression as he cringes in pain. Doing a bit of summer fishing on an extremely hot and muggy day on Lake Houston with my brother. Caught a few crappie, catfish and bream and had fun. The hot temperature ended up driving us back to the boat dock.
